Dear Director Smith,

Shalom!

I know that this has nothing to do with the movies nor the book - but please take time to read it!!!

One thing that I have learned in my daily walk with God is that the best way to the Father is through his Son.

I know that your father is a very busy man (well, I’m not saying you’re not) and if I send this letter to his account, the possibility of this letter being notice is very low.
That’s why I came to you.

Maybe you’re wondering who in the world I am asking for your favor, you don’t even know me just as I don’t know you – all I know is that you’re Michael W. Smith’s son and like what I have said, the best way to the father is through his son. Even you’re father doesn’t know of my existence.

Director, please… kindly hand this letter to your father.

Dear Sir,

Few weeks ago, I finished reading your book “This is Your Time” and I have learned something about your song “Kentucky Rose”. I know it won’t make any difference but I want you to know that I really like that song. At first, I also thought the same way like those who said new age stuff but as I listened and listened to the songs in “The First Decade” I came to love it. The words alone are so powerful. It strengthens the weary heart of every minister who thought of quitting. Personally, as a Deaconess in our church (that’s what they call the ordained women minister in our church), at the end of the day Kentucky Rose is the song that you should listen to, urging you to go on. People may not recognize your effort nor listen to what you are saying – as you meditate, the song echoes hope and assurance that the Lord never forgets, even your simple act of kindness. In the end, your legacy will remain just like old Kentucky Rose. A life lived as simple as a flower but others can’t help but notice the beauty that it brings!

I am praying to God that He may give me an opportunity to meet you face to face – well, we’ll never know. But one thing I’m sure about – we will meet when we all go home to our Father. Is it okay if I look for you among the many and request you to sing Kentucky Rose!!!

Sir, thank you!!! You’re not just an ordinary idol. You really inspire me, the melodies, the music, the words of your songs and the way you sang it, Oh, they are so majestic…. Thank you for not giving up, for standing still to your calling inspite all the difficulties and rejections (I guess) when you’re just starting.

Sir can you extend my gratefulness to your son for handing you this letter.

In Him,
Reesie

And Director Smith…. I have a copy of “Sign’s” music video – it’s awesome as well as “Healing Rain”, I’ve seen it in the You tube. You’re good on what you are doing – WELL DONE!!!

Thank you Director Smith…..
