If you haven't heard of Guillermo Del Toro, educate yourself immediately. This guy's one of the most gifted filmmakers working today. I'm still working through his catalogue, but "The Devil's Backbone", "Hellboy", and "Pan's Labyrinth" are all fantastic. His visual sense, his knack for great storytelling, his compelling characters, and his handle on Hitchcockian suspense make Shyamalan look like a hack.
