I was in shock today as I read the words, "Anthony Minghella dies at age 54". One of the most talented writer/directors we've seen in the past twenty years, Minghella built his career on adaptations, among them "The English Patient", "The Talented Mr. Ripley", and "Cold Mountain". A true artist, Minghella never sold out, never compromised. His work stands a testament to that. He will be missed.
